DO YOU WANT TO get clear on your artistic direction,
strengthen your style and develop a cohesive body of work that embodies YOU?
Feel directionless and all over the place in your art...
Have an easy time creating sketches and stand alone pieces, but can't seem to create consistent and cohesive work...
And want to STRENGTHEN your style...
This workshop is for you.
When we have a strong sense of direction, clarity on our style and a portfolio of work that we feel proud of, we feel so much more confident in who we are as an artist.
Our art becomes recognizable as our own (which attracts collectors and opportunities), and it takes our personal expression the the next--much deeper--level.
BUT HERE'S THE THING
Creatives are often great at painting their hearts out, but struggle to BUILD ON and STRENGTHEN their work.
You might bounce around often and find it difficult (or restricting!) to create in a consistent voice.
Or maybe you feel daunted by the commitment and know-how required to build out a body of work.
Without the a proper roadmap this CAN be really frustrating.
I get it. I've been there.
For years I felt like I was wandering in circles.
I didn't know how to turn my inspiration and creative energy into work that felt representative of me...let alone that was cohesive.
But I could feel the pull:
I was craving a new level of artistic growth and I wanted my work to feel professional.
What I've found is that we need strategies and structure to turn our love of making into something strong that we're proud of.
The roadmap to doing so is exactly what I bring you in this workshop.
Strengthen Your Style + Create Cohesive Work That Embodies YOU
The Series Strategy
This two-part online workshop is a start-to-finish roadmap for developing a cohesive body of work, strengthening your unique aesthetic and getting crystal clear on your artistic direction.
We'll be working at the soulful level and the creative level (like all that I teach!).
You'll look within for clarity, direction, voice and purpose, and put it all into practice with various creative exercises and forward movement on your series.
You'll learn tons about yourself as an artist and your process, as well as how to turn your inspiration into strong, beautiful work that's recognizable and that speaks to people.
“If you want to take your art to the next level this is a great course with clear instructions on developing a series. It was so helpful to see what kind of methods and strategies can be applied in order to improve our work and find new ways to get inspiration.” — Anne de Verteuil
THE SERIES STRATEGY IS FOR YOU IF YOU WANT TO...
Create work that exudes professionalism and that you're crazy proud of (even if you're at the beginning of your journey!)
Go DEEPER with your art practice by committing to building out specific ideas. (I'll show you how to do this in a way that enriches your expression, rather than restricts it.)
Take an honest look at your work so you can propel forward in the RIGHT direction for YOU
Gain tons of clarity around your unique voice
Learn how to get your pieces to "talk to one another" so your work becomes recognizable as your own
Do this all in a way that is a fun, freeing and soulful
You don't have to be a master artist to start working on a body of work, you just have to have the desire to go DEEPER with your art.
Whether you're ready to bring more consistency to your work, or develop a series for an exhibition, this workshop will push you to GROW.
“I would totally recommend this workshop. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about your art, your style, and how develop and push your passion further.”
HOW IT WORKS + WHAT WE'LL COVER
The Series Strategy is a two-part workshop. We'll meet live as a class for Part One, and Part Two will be sent out afterward in the form of videos, examples and written content for you to carry out at your own pace.
An Intimate Look at You and Your Art
Live Online Class over Zoom on June 13 @ 11 am PST
(will be recorded if you can't make it live!)
In this class, we'll set the foundation for your body of work.
Dive deep into understanding your aesthetic: what defines your style, what elements you use (and why!), your strengths and weakness, and more so you can push it even farther.
Honestly evaluate your work and understand what's led you to this point. You'll gain total clarity on how your expression wants to evolve next.
Learn how to decide on a clear direction based on where you are and WHO you are.
Leave with a whole new perspective on the art you make, who you are as an artist and where you (really) want to go from here.
This is where you'll get down to business. You'll dive into some pre-series work to get the ideas flowing and then move on to building your new series!
I. Inspiration, Exploration + Expansion
Learn how to make your voice even MORE apparent in your work (and weed out what dulls it down). This is what sets you apart and makes your art recognizable.
Go through various exercises to get the inspiration and ideas flowing and give you tons of options to work with.
Explore different ideas before committing and learn how to expand on the themes that really stick.
II. Building Out Your SERIES
Go through a special process to decide on a direction based on all the work you've done up until this point
Get creating! I'll walk you through the ups and downs, and different ways to go about building out a body of work.
Learn how to create COHESION in your work (hint: there's a handful of different ways to do this! I'll show you my favorites and how you can go about determining the best way for YOU).
“I loved how inclusive it was. I didn’t feel pressure to be a "real" artist to participate. The teaching style is a very easy and comfortable one to learn from. Such a great experience!” -- Anne
What if I can't attend the live class?
Not a problem! The live class will be recorded and sent out afterward for you to work through on your own time.
How long do I have access to the workshop content?
You get lifetime access to everything in this workshop. I want you to be able to revisit and rework through the material anytime you want to gain clarity on your direction, or start in on your next body of work. The strategies and structure I'll be teaching are things you can apply endless timesl
I've already taken Creativity Unleashed and/or The Heart Centered Art Journey, will I benefit from this workshop?
YES. In fact, this is a perfect add-on to both of those courses and will take everything you've learned to the next level.
Those courses are about stirring up creative energy, finding freedom and learning to create in a way that's connected to your heart. The Series Strategy is all about taking stock of where you're at and where you want to go, and learning how to channel all of that newfound creative energy into consistent and cohesive work. This workshop will bring direction and a new level of growth to everything you learned.
(If you have not taken these courses, don't worry. They are in no way a prerequisite for this workshop.)
Will you be running this workshop again? I'm too busy to commit to creating a series of work right now.
I honestly don't know! If you feel called to take The Series Strategy, I would act regardless of your schedule.
This workshop will inevitably strengthen your style and bring cohesion to your work, even if you choose to make stand-alone pieces for awhile.
Also, it's lifetime access and you can do it at your own pace! You can always sign up now and work through it when the time is right for you.
